Jason Hadeed: Rest in Peace

A friend of mine, Strength Coach Jason Hadeed, was tragically shot and killed in front of his house on Friday.

He was a great strength coach and an incredible human being.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jason for over 8 years. He was one of the very first people to contribute articles to my web site and I spoke at one of his conferences in Maryland.

He was a passionate trainer dedicated to helping young athletes get better.

Here’s a video of Jason to enjoy. He will be missed…

With sadness,

When I heard the news of this senseless act, I was and still am in disbelief. Jason and I worked together at John's (Philbin's) gym. He used to train me for football. He was a dedicated trainer and cared tremendously for the athletes. We lost a good man. Rest In Peace J.

It saddens me to see someone gunned down in cold blood like that. I did not know Jason, but my prayers go to him and his family. As a father, I could not imagine my kids being without me. Rest in peace Jason.

As Jason's maternal aunt, I thank each and every one of you for your kind comments. The family is heartbroken and your words mean more than you know. God bless you all.
  • I first met Jason years ago when I spoke at the same strength training conference Ryan mentioned above, and we were friends ever since.

Whenever I needed a contact, referral, testimonial or recommendation, I could always count on Jason.

I happened to be in his gym for a seminar the day after he was killed. I still can't believe he's gone. We'll all miss him.

February 13th was easily one of the saddest days of my life. I owe every bit of my career to Jason. I even wanted to be Jason. Not just because he was an outstanding trainer, but because he was a rare human being: Someone who exuded passion and life and gave so selflessly. Some of my fondest and dearest moments were working alongside him. I will miss you and hope to live my life with the same integrity you portrayed.

Jason Hadeed was a special friend. He saw the best in you before you did. He lived life to its fullest and it is a tradgedy that this bright star was lost so early in his life. He will be missed and his friends will rally to provide for his kids, to live the way Jason wanted us to, and to make the most of today. God bless you Jason, we thank you for being such a great influence on us all. Our hearts are simply broken.
  • Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting Jason, I understand that he had tremendous passion and dedication for helping others.

My prayers go out to his family and friends!

    Sincerely,
    Ken Roetman
  • I just want to let everyone know that Jason was great guy. I actually live right near Jason in Montgomery County, MD and when I heard this news it brought me to tears. I'm still devastated and in complete SHOCK.

How on earth could this happen to a person like Jason? He offered so much to the community and the athletes he helped. He was a true professional and a couple years ago, I wanted to even hire him as my own personal trainer.

But mostly, like you said Ryan, Jason was a GREAT human being. He is in a better place now and will be greatly missed.

    Sincerely,

    Jim Coughlin
