Egyptian Secret

Every week, my wife and I try to have a “date night” – where it’s just us without the kids. We both agree it’s an important part of keeping our marriage strong, plus it gives us some well needed alone time.

As you might know, I’m a huge movie fan. My escape is going to the movies at least once a week. Thankfully, my wife loves movies too – and last night we saw The Bucket List.

It was a movie about 2 men who have terminal cancer and they want to make the best of their last months on earth.

They set out to do everything on their “bucket” list — things they want to accomplish before they kick the bucket.

There’s one scene where they are in Egypt atop a great pyramid.

Morgan Freeman’s character says in mytholody, there are 2 things an Egyptian is asked after they pass away and before they can move on to the afterlife.

1. Did you have joy in your life.

2. Did you bring joy to other people’s lives.

That’s some profound stuff.

It made me think hard.

Take a few minutes and ask yourself those 2 questions and think really hard about it.

If you answered no to either one or both of those questions, figure out how you can turn them into a yes.

Nothing wrong with a bit of soul searching, even if it is during my date night with my wife.

Two simple questions, one great life.

Stay strong,
Ryan

P.S. I’ve already been told by thousands of people how much joy my book has given them. I’d love to help you on your journey too:
