I predict kids fitness will grow rapidly, more and more fitness centers will start gearing more toward kids and more fitness centers for kids will start to open. That is my dream someday to open a fitness center for youth.

I think were going to see a explosion of Fitness Lifestyle Coaching. As clients are inclined to dig deeper into the whys of fitness and the mind and body connection ,Lifecoaching will become more prevelent. What is Fitness lifecoaching?

Fitness Professionals encounter clients who don't stay committed on their own. Lets face it most clients have 20 + years of negative conditioning from growing up and society. Parents who feed their children sugary sweet cereals that often grow up to be obese adults with very poor eating choices. Personal trainers often encounter clients who can't seem to keep a food log or do any assigned exercise on their own. They continue to make unhealthy food choices, often citing a busy, stressful week as the reason. Ultimately, your goal is to move the client towards self-responsibility. That's where lifestyle coaching plays a key role.

Don't forget nutrition!!

With new research trickling down about fat burning foods and nutrient timing I think you will start to see even more of a shift towards higher protein and fibrous starches for meals as the main stream media starts to pick up this research.

1) Boot Camps are definitely going to continue to surge in popularity. People are looking for more fun and social support and affordability.

2) I also believe that this is the year that entrepreneurial personal trainers begin to treat their business like a business and not a hobby. They are going to put systems in place and automate as much as possible.

3) Yes, I will always love sandwiches, Zach!

My prediction for 2008 is that Ryan Lee will continue to provide excellent fitness information and links to other worthwhile sources but will only sell half his potential book sales because he is addressing a world wide audience as if it was a domestic United States of American audience. I wish him and his family well and express my sincere gratitude for his efforts. I might even buy his book, once I have sorted out how to do so in pounds sterling without having to pay twice it's dollar price.

Ryan,

I agree with every statement you made.

I also have a prediction that people are going to start working out at home more with an emphasis on bodyweight training, resistance bands, etc.

bruddah

the training of young athletes - ages 8 or so through high school is exploding.

More so, I NEVER imagined the demand for middle school athletes parents wanting trainers.

Parents wants to give their kids the edge, and, unfortunately, want to have success through their kids so we are seeing ULTRA committed parents.

Grasso saw this LONG ago, and man, he is right on!

Also, Jim Labadie will continue to love sandwiches over foods such as steak, burgers and fish.
