Inside a Multi-Million Dollar Launch (What You Can Learn)

I strive for 100% transparency. Ok, maybe I won’t broadcast in my boxers – but you get the point.

I just had my biggest launch ever, and wow – there were some big lessons learned. If you ever want to launch a product online, please watch this video right now.

As always, comments are encouraged:

    Ryan,

The left side of your face is sometimes hidden in a shadow. We were surprised to find how much people notice this kind of stuff on our videos... it can sometimes take their focus off the real message. Maybe a simple lighting change could help?

For those of us with a longer attention span, great stuff!
  • ryanlee
I like to "lurk" in the shadows :)

Actually, it's because I have one desk lamp that is to the right of me.
  • Paul
    You are the man Ryan!
  • fenleyfearon
I really appreciate this vlog entry...great lessons in business in the "real" or dotcom world.

    Ryan,

Thanks for stepping up to the challenge...and for sharing your experience of the launch. It is always tough when something goes wrong -- especially when it is with thousands of orders. I appreciate your example and the customer service you showed.

Loving the Summit. I'll be signing up for other programs in the future.

    Ryan,

Thanks for the inside tips. We are getting ready to launch a product(Continuity program) and all the tips we can get are helpful. Also, thank you again for the EXTREME!! value with the Continuity Summit. Using a tip from video # 5 (Chicken Soup For The Soul), I immediately created an email to the largest commercial real estate agent in our state...we have a meeting with him this Friday to discuss a joint venture partnership. Thanks again Ryan, and keep up the good examples to learn from.

    Ryan,
I must say with all the internet "gurus" you are one of the two three people who are "REAL"
    It is refreshing!

    Thanx

What do you use for your video? I like it and don't like youtube. Greetings from Jax, Fl.
  • bp731
You have over ten years of experience, you have branded yourself well as the "Continuity King", you offer a deal that only the most self-centered person could turn down owing to the fact that it is a match to a charitable contribution for um...$1.00, and you didn't think you would have an explosion of new customers and fans. Ryan you need to think outside-the-box. lol... No I forgive you for all the hang-ups. Way to go. I'm happy for your sucess and your online empire's evolution. Keep us posted on how much this marketing idea worked in the long run.
  • IE6 will get you everytime :-). So how big is your staff? So was it a server issue? Thanks for the tips. Some of would love to have the issue of too many people signing up for their offer.

BTW - I am volunteering to beta test your site if you like, let me know. I did see some issues where as you went through the offers and the video ended, it would go back to the wrong page; clicking the BACK button took care of that though.
  • Congrats on the big-time launch! Great take homes - we had 500+ customer service emails per day when we launched Cheat Your Way Thin, so I can definitely relate there!

Hopefully a ton of people took the Continuity King upsell. Looks like we are set to rebill roughly 800 out of 900 people who took our free trial last month.

50% cancelations is to be expected on a free trial? Um, not when you know what you're doing. We barely had 10% cancelations, and I credit much of what I learned from RRR and Continuity King for that -- unreal!

Admired you since I first heard about you earlier this year!
    (So cute too!)
    Sorry wifey!

This is my dream come true...

  • Hey Ryan!

    CONGRATULATIONS on the big launch!

I tried to get in but somehow I couldn't pay even though I had my credit card out
and I tried like 5 times in 5 days!

I know you don't want to take my dollar - it's ok! lol

Anyways, I just finished a launch on my end as well and I so agree with you
on the point about Internet Explorer! Only 1/8 of my salesletter loaded

    GET FIREFOX PEOPLE!

And... HAVE FUN on your date! =)

By the way, Ryan - I'd like to add one more suggestion.

Offer PayPal as another payment option.
    I don't know why 1ShoppingCart
couldn't accept my credit card and your support
guys didn't get back to me - so a raving fan is
    kept out =(

  • Hooooray! I love this website. Best dollar spent! :)
  • danielmunday
thankyou Ryan for taking the time to personally sort the access problems I had out - I didn't even get to the upsell page at the time. I was in IE and checked it on firefox and all is good.

I just want to let you know that I used to be a MW subscriber back when it was $20 a month and cxld because when you switched over I wasn't ready for the continuity stage of my biz.

Now I am and after the service that I have had from you personally addressing the problems I am sure that I will be sticking around now the same program is $100/mth.

Now that I can get access to all of the content that is in this inner circle my jaw has literally hit the floor with all you have in here.

An old former and now long customer again,
    Daniel Munday

I cannot access the videos that I paid a $1.00 for. When I go to bonuses it tells me that I have to be an inner circle member. I opted not to get the newsletter which was given to me as a choice. How do I access the videos I paid for. Thank you, Ruth

    Hi Ryan,

I totally understand. Things happen. You have my complete respect because you were upfront about the technical issues and you worked through them. As a business, sometimes we loose site of the fact that the customers are human and just want to deal with whats "Real". You brought IT, and thanks for that.

    Sheila
  • Hi Ryan - have just watched your 'fess up video about your launch. Thanks so much - firstly for the fabulous offer, secondly for working so hard to sort out the glitches, thirdly for being a 'real' person and not some out-there guru, and fourthly for showing a newbie like me who's still grappling with lots of tech stuff that even the established IM folks can have problems :-)
Looking forward to the webinar today, and being part of your Inner Circle group lol.
    whoohoo!
    Tanya (UK)
  • This post is very informative Ryan. I learned a lot. I haven't tried Launching but it's great to prepare an audience beforehand just like you said. Thanks.
  • Ron
Dude, your the man! And your team etc! And Congrats to you and your wife on the birth of your daughter. Great job making the fix. For me it was not a big deal, to you guys it was a major big deal. I felt for you all and the stress and frustration you dealt with to make it right. Time to read some more Robbins or Wayne Dyer! Ooohm! You have earned my faith, trust and loyalty. Thank you for bringing great content and value. I've much from you in a month and a half, and will value you as a partner in time.
Till then, get some rest and kiss your baby for me!

The best to you and your wife,
    Rockin' Ronnie

    Hi Ryan,

I'm trying to reach you here as I've had no luck getting a response from either the admin@ryanlee.com email or the support desk. After seeing below how you assisted danielmunday, I'm hoping you will see my comment and step in as well.

I was referred to your Continuity Summit download offer by David Frey, and signed up on 11/4. My Order ID # is 151465004. While I received a confirmation email, I've yet to receive any sort of username/password to access the information.

I emailed the admin address on 11/4 and the support desk yesterday (11/5). I also tried to call your 866 number twice but was unable to leave any sort of message.

Can you please assist? I'm really looking forward to checking out what you have available. I understand tech difficulties happen and that's no big deal - I'm just looking for confirmation that someone's received my request for help and it's being worked on.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike
  • Appreciate you rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty. Way to keep it real.
