Membership Sites Invade National Television! Paid Sites Are Going Mainstream…

Do you still doubt the general public is willing to spend money for content online?

Well, I’ve got news for ya… membership sites have invaded television.

And it’s in a market where there are literally millions of pages giving the same information away for free.

See the video example here…

Joining communities is a natural human drive, fueled by our need for Connection. It's one of the 6 Human Needs (the other 5 are Certainty, Uncertainty (a.k.a. Variety), Significance, Growth and Contribution).

But YES, it's great to see people being willing to pay to join in online, along with major players investing the big bucks to validate the membership site model in the mainstream.

Very interesting and gave me lots of ideas for my own membership site. Thanks, Ryan!

So my website is a membership site www.break2bfit.com what would you reccomend for me?

Great example Ryan. The question I would have is why make a month-to-month member wait an entire month for each of the 12 courses unless the real goal is to have almost everyone choose the $199 for all 12 up front? Why not just offer the chance to purchase one course at a time so the member can move at their own pace? What aspiring chef would want to wait several weeks at a time to complete the instruction? Just some food for thought...

Membership sites are also popular with books.

The Zone Diet's membership site boasts over 30,000 members.

That's a LOT of greenbacks brutha!

    Great video Ryan (as always)!

Top Chef is one of the most popular tv shows in America!! How can a nobody compete with companies like these?
  • Joyce
The first step is to not think of yourself as a nobody :)
  • RobertJohn
Yes i know but there is reality!! Top Chef is a top rated show on tv, talk about marketing!! Ryan has great stuff and seems like an honest guy but my question is...is it practical for the everyday person who is not known? I have a MS in Kinesiology, I know exercise like the back of my hand but nobody cares becuase I am competiting with fortune 500 companies!!!!
  • ryanlee
Does TopChef have an advantage over the "everyday" person?

    Absolutely.

But can you not only compete - but win?

    Definitely!

In fact, I did a full webinar with Chef Todd Mohr who is in the same space and earning a nice six-figure income with a cooking membership site. And he was completely unknown when he started.
    His site is http://www.webcookingclasses.com/

There are hundreds of examples in just about every niche.

My friends Hubert and John are killing it with their stock investment membership site raking in millions (and again, they were "unknown" to the public when they started).

The Internet has leveled the playing field.
