The Power of Less (The 10 Book Challenge)

I just got back from a 7 day vacation with my wife and kids. And I didn’t check email for the entire week.

Wow – what a freeing experience!

I also read a great book called “The Power of Less” by Leo Babauta. Definitely worth a read.

So sticking with the “power of less”, watch this video then answer the following question below:

If you had to de-clutter your bookshelf, which 10 books would be left standing? What are the essentials?

P.S. Let your voice be heard. I love learning about new books I might have missed.

P.P.S. The Continuity Summit is right around the corner. It’s official, the most successful information marketer of all-time will be speaking at the event. He will be revealed this week…

  • I’ve always found 10 to be too many so here’s my top 4:

    1. Creating Money by Roman and Packer
Following your inner guidance and doing what really turns you ON! It’s a simple principle – learn to listen to your heart, your inner guidance, what you really want. Learn to differentiate between true guidance and ego-based thinking. Then follow it. Don’t do stuff you hate doing - find what you love and stick to it. However, I would add, there’s no use visualising or ‘magnetising’ what you want if you have a powerful, negating and undermining beliefs in place. You’ll find great strategies for dealing with those in ‘Sacred Choices’ below.

    2. Sacred Choices by Christel Nani
Like a subtle counterpoint to the now huge industry of self-development through visualisation, this book reminds us that all of our imaginings are likely to come to nothing if our fundamental beliefs about ourselves, others and the world are negative and limiting. Nani guides us through the torrid waters of self-exploration with practical explorations and exercises so that we can identify and shed those pounds of the past.

    2. Practicing the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
The Power of Now, which provides a profound rationale and excellent strategies for going beyond the limited thinking of ego, is condensed in this short, concise summary of the main points and key strategies. A must pocketbook for everyday, authentic living. Completely readable and comprehensive on its own.

    3. Many Mansions – The Edgar Cayce Story on Reincarnation by Gina Cerminara
A roadmap for understanding the bigger picture and the healing power of the difficulties and adverse life events we all experience but often can’t understand. For those without a religious orientation, or with one, read and then decide. I’m not of a religious persuasion, and I don’t completely understand the metaphysics, but there’s a BIG truth running through this book that I can identify with.

I have gotten so much information from you, I had to decide what I wanted to do first. I decided on online publishing and teaching fitness. I hope to finish my career in publishing and speaking! At 55, I am getting tired of teaching martial arts and boxing.
