  • Matt
I've needed to do this for a while. Thanks for the push
  • Great video. Another option is to use rules or filters to toss email into a "Coupon" or "Offers" folder.

good stuff...you always open up the learn~ peace.

Hey Ryan, loved the tip about creating a new email address to take the junk! I am pretty organised so I don't let the emails build up so the unwelcome ones do distract! Rock on!
  • robmorley
That is so true Ryan..... many thanks for your words of wisdom. Rob Uk
  • I actually started doing this the other day when I was 'Getting to Zero' ;-)
  • Rick
When you mentioned about people who are always trying to sell you something everytime they send you an email I thought of you. Ryan, isn't that what you are doing????? Are you suggestng we eliminate your emails. I am confused
  • Tim
    Rick,

As Ryan mentions: if you aren't getting any value (even from his list) then unsubscribe. My guess is since you are here, watching (and hopefully learning) then there is some value for you.

    Your call!
  • Hey Ryan,

A simple tip but a great one just the same.
I was at an event 5 months ago and a marketer
suggested this "unsubscribe" policy and I took him up on it
and can attest to the progress.

Your videos do add value so you're still on my short list.

  • Thanks for that advice. It's something that we all know but don't do. I think that sometimes we get caught up with the idea that any moment a new concept is going to change our lives. Instead we just get pulled in all directions by people who sell the latest package of the week. It always sounds better than putting in the work on what we are currently doing. The result is that nothing gets done. Focusing on one idea and making it happen is the answer. Thanks for the reminder.

  • thank you so much for that and especially thank you for the other tips about how you maintain focus, ie: by working on only 1 project at a time. That's what keeps tripping me up-- trying to juggle 3-4 things at the same time.
  • I just put 1,857 emails in the trash and unsubscribe from 7 non value newsletter. That felt good

Thanks for sticking around. When the girls are older invite them to travel to some of these marvellous far reaches of their world. I'm so appreciative my grandmother who when i was 19 gifted me a trip to Indonesia for 20 days. Wow! I was so blessed to be there! It gives me the drive and vision for the projects I'm doing now!

    Good one Ryan,

I agree, I noticed that once I purchase a program from one of my mentor the only way a can truly give it my 100% is by shutting the noise from some marketers. I usually pick the ones that send me the most emails or less valued information and I noticed this habit makes a huge difference.

Can't see anything in your box. Have a box in top left of the square. Clicking on it does nothing. I'm allowing Pop-ups.
  • This Lesson is so true E-mails can Waste Huge Amounts of Time and Get You very un-productive When I learned to hit the Un-Subsribe Button on my E-mails My Auctual Productivity Went Way up You are One of the Few Marketers Thats Allowed in My In-Box Because Your Content Helps Me Make Money Thanx
  • Ryan,
What do you do about spam that you try to unsubscribe from and they just send you more junk?
  • valdivz
Hey Ryan.... I took your advice and I literally spent about 2 hours un-subscribing to other so called marketers. No seriously 2 hours!!!!

I've always kept in touch with these people only to see and examine how they structure their pitches and sales sequence so I can learn it but now I've chosen to do that with only some of the top marketers.

So thanks again for the tip.

Thanks Ryan - very simple and straightforward advice. I'm subscribed to at least 4 things I can be without.
    Cheers,

I use my "top sites" page on my mac to establish the 24 sites I will receive/respond. I may be missing some good stuff out there, but you need to draw a line somewhere -- or paralysis rules the day.

I use the "top sites" page on my mac to establish who I will receive/respond. I may be missing some good stuff and my top 24 does change, but a line must be drawn or paralysis rules the day -- all info no outcomes!
  • Good advice there.
I think everyone can relate to this issue of feeling cluttered with too many emails.
It would take so much time to actually go through every one properly, especially these days with email links to videos being more common.
People who are subscribed to a few internet marketing lists could potentially spend 4-5 hours per day, just watching random IM videos that are sent to their inbox.
So I agree it's very important to unsubscribe where appropriate and get uncluttered.

Thanks for the post Ryan. I will free already.

  • Well said. I've subscribed to so many lists that just turn into a daily pitch-fest. 'Click' - unsubscribed. Many marketers just don't get that you need to create value FIRST.
  • abundancymagnet
Declutter, make space; put closure to one project so another great one can come your way. Nature abhors a vacuum, so create space first...
Thanks for the reminder of focusing on one thing at a time.
